All Quiet on the Western Front, the 1930's one. Given when it was produced it was a quite remarkable film.

I was 19 - made in East Germany at the height of the Cold War, about an exiled young German moving through devastated Germany with the Red Army in the last days of the war. Brilliant film, should be better known.

Saw that the other day for the first time since I was about 10. Wasn't as long as I remember, as I kid I thought it lasted about 3 days!!

Where Eagles Dare and A Bridge Too Far my favourites with Von Ryan's Express, Battle of the Bulge and The Eagle Has Landed not far behind.
